Having 54 previous safaris in eight countries, I was not expecting the totally enjoyable experience that you and your staff provided. The quality of the 10 trophies we collected exceeded my expectations. The spot and stalk hunting was text book. My only regret is that my wife could not join me on this hunt. She missed your incredibly beautiful accommodations, wonderful food and breathtaking views.

I recently travelled to South Africa on a hunting safari with some close friends from Texas. They had been on trips with Western Cape safaris before and I was elated when they asked me to join this year.

I can’t say enough great things about Danie and his team at Western Cape. When you choose to travel halfway around the world to hunt, there are two things that top the list of importance: Who you are travelling with (Our group was amazing and super fun!) and Who you are hunting with. The right outfitter can truly make it a trip of a lifetime. Western Cape Safari will not disappoint.

From the time they picked us up at the airport and drove us to the ranch with beautiful picturesque mountains as nature’s backdrop, to showing us to our 5-star accommodations, they were welcoming and excited to have us there as their guests. We were provided with every comfort you could ask for and then some! Jolene and the staff prepared our meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Danie is an exceptional grill master cooking fresh venison from our harvest right over fiery wood coals. We had many delicious meals and shared laughs and stories from our hunts earlier that day.

I was blown away at the number of animals to choose from and include on your hit list. There are 21 different species and we were fortunate to harvest some awesome trophy animals while we were there. My two proudest and most impressive were: a 46″ mature Sable bull taken at 50 meters with my crossbow, and a magnificent 52″ Kudu taken at 351 meters with Danie’s rifle. This thing is dialed in and was a pleasure to shoot and harvest many animals with on our trip. Thank you Danie for allowing me to use your baby….go ahead and send it back in my crate with the animals LOL.

I want to thank Danie and his staff for making this the trip of my lifetime! Jared and Kristen were so much fun to travel and hunt with and I enjoyed meeting and getting to know Mike and Jeremy too. We are already discussing our next trip to visit again in 2023 and can’t wait to see what awesome animals will be in the crosshairs then. Aim small, miss small but win big with Western Cape Safaris. This was my first hunt with Western Cape Game Safaris, but my fourth hunt in Africa. I have been to Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. I have hunted for two weeks in a tent in Namibia and I have stayed in some of the finest lodges in several different countries. Nothing compares to the hunting, lodging and food at Western Cape Game Safaris.

Danie is both owner and Professional Hunter. He was with us every day paying attention to every detail of our hunting. Trophy animals were abundant and they are set up for bow hunting like no other place that I have hunted, but will certainly accommodate rifle hunting as we did some awesome spot and stalk hunts.

While Danie is in charge of hunting his wife Janine is in charge of preparing the menu for the chefs to cook on a daily basis and also entertainment. They set up trips to various other ranches, towns, amusements, (who would think of Zip Lining while on Safari), we even went to a local winery and ate lunch, then did a wine tasting.

So guys— don’t be afraid to bring your wife and kids as there is truly something for everyone! Hunting, Lodging, African Cuisine, all five star!

They will help arrange your flights for a small fee— but with Covid related travel restrictions— this in my opinion is the ONLY way to assure that your trip goes smoothly and stress-free. They will meet you in the airport and stay with you until you are checked in for your departure flight. Can’t wait to go back!

Africa exceeded all expectations I ever had. It is so much more than everything we see and hear. I’ve always made it a point to not judge people based on things that are said about them. I’ve now come to realize the same can be said for places and cultures as well. Western Cape Game provided such a phenomenal experience. From beautiful lodging to some of the best food I’ve ever had. Clearly, the wildlife was my favorite part, as I had such a hard time picking my ten favorite pictures. Currently looking for any takers to come back with us in a couple years!

We just got back From South Africa and could not have asked for a better trip. We were fortunate to find western cape game safaris. Danie and beau went above and beyond to meet our expectations. From the hunting experience to the catering to the lodging, etc. it was all 5 Star. We couldn’t have asked for better PH’s than those two. The animals were exceptional and very plentiful. They met my husbands bow hunting needs. The set up was a bow hunters paradise. We already booked our next trip in 2019 with them, and can’t wait.

We had a great 1st time in Africa with PH, Danie van Jaarsveld, his kind family and professional trackers.
I will never forget our tracker Majak and his skills and appetite (he got my lunch box on a long day). The land and facilities was top notch as well as the quality and number of game we were in contact with during our stay.

Danie, After 15 years of knowing and hunting with you, with all the memories that we have made, along with all the superb Trophies that we have hunted together over the years across so much of the Bushveld, I look forward to a new Era and the experiences that are yet to come with the new endeavour into a new area. The prospect of learning and exploring a whole new facet of South Africa and hunting alongside you again, is exciting beyond compare. Looking forward to 15 more years, my friend!!!

I would highly recommend booking your next South Africa hunting trip with Western Cape Game with Danie Van Jaarsveld. They put me on some amazing animals to hunt like, kudu, gembok, springbok and impala just to name a few. The accommodations were 5 stars, great staff, amazing food and very comfortable rooms with breath taking views. I would be glad to talk to anyone about my trip. I am going back to Western Cape Game for my next South Africa Hunting Trip.

Danie, Thanks for hosting a wonderful trip. You are a true ambassador to South Africa and the local communities. The 10 days we spent completely exceeded my expectations  in every way. At both places we stayed the accommodations were spotless, the food was outstanding and the staff were professional and very pleasant. It was very nice to experience more than just hunting. The local community has a tremendous  amount to offer from site seeing and shopping  to  tours of the Ostrich hatchery and much more that we didn’t have time for !. The actual hunting was also outstanding, the number of species and amount of true trophies we witnessed was unbelievable. We were very impressed with the care given while handling the trophies both in the field and with the processing in the skinning facility. One memory that will stand out in my mind is the commitment you and so many others have made to helping the local preschool with donations and support. Seeing those children there is something that  I will not soon forget !!

“Thanks Danie for the adventure of a lifetime. Every detail was expertly handled from the start including getting our rifles pre-registered and then met when we stepped off the plane in Capetown where we were escorted thru customs and South African Police to retrieve our rifles. The trip started with a guided scenic drive thru the mountains on route 62 with a stop at lunch for an authentic South African dish. Upon arrival at our destination we were taken by surprise by the beautiful, modern, spacious 5 star accommodations at the foothills of the mountains. Bungee, the chef, showed off his culinary talents with food that rivaled the best restaurants. I think I gained ten pounds!  The game was not only plentiful but the trophy quality far exceeded our expectations as many of our trophies made the Safari Club record book. The attention to detail was at every turn with things like the truck cleaned and fresh water bottles in the door pockets every morning. In every way our expectations were far exceeded. And the best part which I can’t say with any other trip I’ve been on, I feel like we have a new friend! Thanks Danie until next time.”

We recently enjoyed 2 week vacation in South Africa which we booked with Western Cape. Danie made sure that everything was taken care of and that everyone had a good time. His attention to all the details made for a very enjoyable experience. The lodges we stayed in were nice and the staff was very attentive. The chefs made wonderful meals for us and we really enjoyed eating the wild game that we harvested during our stay. My two boys an I hunted several different properties and everything including the blinds, trackers and professional hunters were top notch. We were able to hunt many different species of animals and the trophies were outstanding. There are many other things to do in the Western Cape besides hunting so the ladies were busy most of the time sight seeing and shopping. This was definitely the vacation and hunt of a lifetime!
